Who We Are
Doris and MacMahon Solicitors currently has 10 solicitors and 15 support staff. Each of our solicitors specialise in a particular area of law and together we offer a comprehensive and focused solution for our clients.
The firm is accredited to the Law Society Approved Lexcel System which means files, staff training and general management within the firm are consistently audited and monitored to ensure a high level of service is delivered.
Brian MacMahon LL.B.
Brian, a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast was admitted as a Solicitor 1977 and has been with the firm since then. With over 35 years experience, Brian has extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of residential, commercial and agricultural conveyancing.
Brian also advises on Estate Planning to include Wills, Powers of Attorney, Tax Planning and Probate.
Francis Redmond LL.B.
Francis graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1979 and is now one of the Senior Partners in the Firm with over 25 years of experience as a lawyer in the Civil and Criminal Courts.
Francis has a wealth of experience acting on behalf of Clients who have been injured in accidents, either at work, or on the road. He also advises on all aspects of criminal law and has been involved in a significant number of medical negligence claims.
Roisin Cross LL.B.
Roisin graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1983 with an Honour’s Degree in Law (LLB) and joined Doris & MacMahon in 1987.
Roisin has over 25 years experience in private practice and specialises in property transactions including Residential Conveyancing, Mortgages, Co-Ownership, Commercial Lease transactions and Private Tenancies.
She also specialises in Probate matters, Contentious Estates, drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications to Office of Care and Protection.
Katherine Holland LL.B.
Katherine graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Laws in July 2005. She qualified as a practising solicitor in 2007 having been awarded the Thomasina McKinney Prize as the top solicitor pupil in her year. Katherine has over ten years of experience in many areas of law and is now specialising in residential agricultural and commercial conveyancing.
Maire MacMahon LL.B.
Marie studied at Liverpool University and the College of Law in London. She qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1982 and practised probate and property law with a London firm until her return to Northern Ireland in 1996 to join Doris & MacMahon where she specialises in private client with a particular interest in elderly client law.
Her areas include Wills, Probate and the Administration of Estates, Enduring Power of Attorney, Office of care and Protection, Nursing Home fees, Inheritance Tax Planning.
Jason McLaren LL.B.
Jason graduated from Queens University Belfast 1994 with a Bachelors of Law Degree, he joined Messers Doris & MacMahon in 1994 and completed his apprenticeship in 1996.
Jason has 18 years experience in the practice of Law and he specialises in Civil Ligation, Criminal Law, Debt Recovery, Commercial Litigation together with Property and Boundary Disputes.
Kevin McElduff LL.B.
Kevin graduated from University of Ulster, Jordanstown in 2001 with a Bachelor of Law Degree and joined Doris & MacMahon in 2001.
Kevin has over 10 years Litigation experience and specialises in Matrimonial Law including Separation Agreements, divorce proceedings, Children welfare and Custody Issues. He also specialises in Criminal and Civil Litigation and in particular Personal Injury Claims.
Michael Redmond LL.B.
Michael qualified from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 2014 having joined Doris & MacMahon in 2011. Prior to his Apprenticeship, Michael graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2009 and completed his Legal Practice Course in Liverpool two years later.
Michael practices in litigation department and has an interest in personal injury claims, employment, family and criminal work.
Grainne McGeown LL.B.
Grainne graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2009 with a Bachelor of Law Degree, she also completed a Master of Social Science in Criminal Justice graduating in 2011. Grainne qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 having joined Doris and MacMahon as an apprentice solicitor in 2013.
Grainne largely practices in the Conveyancing department dealing with residential, agricultural and commercial transactions and also has a keen interest in Probate and drafting of Wills.
Rebecca McElhatton LL.B.
Rebecca graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 2015. She commenced her Apprenticeship with Doris & MacMahon thereafter, gaining invaluable experience in many areas of practice, particularly within the firm’s litigation department.
Rebecca qualified as a practising Solicitor in 2017 and is now specialising in residential and commercial conveyancing.
